As part of our Communications Plan, which is included in our final DCO, we have established a Local Liaison Committee. The committee involves members of the project team, representatives of the community, local landowners and members of Parish and Local Councils. Once appointed, we will also invite our main contractors to sit on the committee.
The committee is split into four groups due to the length of our onshore cable route, to ensure that all members are provided with relevant information and kept well informed throughout. The first set of meetings took place in June 2017 and were generally well attended. All 24 Parish Councils were invited to provide a representative to sit on the committee.
The committee will meet regularly in the run up to and during construction to discuss upcoming activities and arrange appropriate means and timescales to communicate information to the wider community. This committee ensures that members of the community have a forum for raising any requests for information with the project team through their representatives.
